A one-page guide: what's inside, a five-step quick start, and how to make it your own.
Dashboard
Pick a month from the dropdown and every number follows: income, expenses and what's left as big cards, a category table with traffic-light flags, and a spend-by-category pie.
Transactions
One place to log everything, income and expenses, with category dropdowns so the rest of the workbook stays tidy. Comes with a full year of sample rows to learn from.
Annual
A 12-month roll-up of income, expenses, net and savings rate, with trend charts and mini sparklines so the year's shape is obvious.
Settings
Rename or add your spending categories once here and every dropdown, table and chart across the workbook updates automatically.

Tips & good to know

Get the most out of it.

  • Change your categories on the Settings sheet, not on the Dashboard, so every chart and dropdown stays in sync.
  • The month selector on the Dashboard drives the whole page, leave the formulas alone and just pick a month.
  • Clear the sample rows on the Transactions sheet in one selection, then start logging your own.
  • Formulas are locked so you can't break them by accident, use Review then Unprotect Sheet (no password) if you ever want to tinker.

Questions

Good to know before you buy.

Does this work in Microsoft Excel as well as Google Sheets?
Yes. It's built as an .xlsx and works in Excel and Numbers. To use it in Google Sheets, open your copy in Drive, then File then Make a copy for a fully editable version.
Do the charts and totals update on their own?
Yes. Everything is driven by live formulas, log a transaction and the dashboard cards, category table, pie chart and annual trends all recalculate immediately.
Can I add my own spending categories?
Absolutely. Add or rename categories once on the Settings sheet and every dropdown and chart in the workbook picks them up automatically.
Is this a subscription?
No. It's a one-time purchase and the copy is yours to keep and edit forever.
Will it mess up my existing budget?
No, you get your own private copy. Nothing you do touches the original, and there's sample data included so it makes sense the moment you open it.
